Flooring Projects We’ve Done in Federal Way
This Federal Way Waterfront home was in need of a change with the grout in their existing tile beginning to crack throughout the main floor. We thought it would be best to update their 12 x 12 travertine to a 24 x 48 large format porcelain tile.
Like all tile tear outs, dust isolation was a major point of focus. Our isolation process is to:
- Hang plastic to isolate the demolition area
- Turn off the HVAC system and/or cover the cold air return
- Run an industrial fan system creating negative pressure to divert dust to outside the home
- After the tear-out was complete it was time to install a backer board, thick enough to meet the previous tile height, and lay the new tile.
After the demolition was complete our skilled tile installers came in to carefully lay the large-format tile without breaking a single piece!
